Precision nutrition and personalized nutrition, deliver more preventive and practical dietary advice. Precision nutrition comprises dietary habits, food behavior, physical activity, deep phenotyping, metabolomics, microbiota, and nutrigenomics. Precision nutrition includes several clinical practice approaches, such as genetics, dietary habits, food behavior, physical activity, microbiota, and metabolome. With an overwhelming increase in obesity and associated metabolic disturbances, such as type 2 diabetes and cardiovascular diseases, precision nutrition represents a promising approach for preventing and managing metabolic syndrome. This review article highlights the concept of precision nutrition in clinical practice, especially in type 2 diabetes mellitus and metabolic disorders, to prevent and manage the disease. Precision nutrition is an emerging specialty of nutrition that produces a promising approach in clinical practice.
